How can we help?

Buying

How buying works, what prices include and how the cart handles several sellers.

How does buying on Binder work?

You buy directly from other people: private collectors and verified stores. Find a card, pick an offer, add it to your cart and pay at checkout.

You pay Binder, not the seller. We hold the money until you confirm the parcel arrived, and only then is the seller paid. That way you are covered if something goes wrong.

Who am I buying from?

Every offer comes from an individual seller. There are two kinds:

  • Private collectors selling from their own collection.
  • Verified stores, shown with a check badge. They have passed an identity and business check.

Both are covered by the same buyer protection. You can see each seller's ratings on their profile.

Do prices include shipping?

Yes. Prices you see include shipping to your country. Set your ship-to country in the header so the prices match where you live.

Are there any fees for buyers?

No. During launch, Binder is free for buyers and sellers. What you see at checkout is what you pay.

What happens if my cart has cards from several sellers?

Each seller sends you their own parcel, so your order is split into one parcel per seller. Shipping is charged per parcel.

Buying more from the same seller only adds a little shipping, so it often pays to combine.

What does “Optimise cart” do?

It looks at all offers for the cards in your cart and finds the cheapest combination of sellers, including shipping. You can review the result before you accept it.

How do I know what condition a card is in?

Each offer shows its condition on the Cardmarket scale (Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Good, Light Played, Played, Poor) and the card's language.

Single cards priced €20 or more come with a real photo of the actual card. If a card arrives in a worse condition or another language than listed, you can report it as not as described.

Selling

Listing single cards, graded slabs and sealed products, and moving your stock over.

How do I list a card?

Open any card page and tap “Sell this card”, or go to Sell. You can list one item at a time or upload many at once as a CSV file.

Choose the condition, language and price, add photos if needed, and your offer goes live.

Can I move my stock from Cardmarket?

Yes. Export your stock from Cardmarket as a CSV file and import it on Move from Cardmarket. It only takes a few minutes, and you can check everything before it goes live.

Which conditions can I choose?

We use the Cardmarket scale: Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Good, Light Played, Played and Poor. Pick the condition honestly; buyers can report cards that are worse than listed.

You also set the language for each listing.

When do I need to upload a photo?

Raw single cards priced €20 or more need a real photo of the actual card you are selling. The front is required, the back is recommended.

Stock images or photos of a different copy are not allowed.

How do I list a graded card?

Choose the grader (PSA, CGC or BGS), the grade from 1 to 10, and enter the certificate number from the label. The certificate number is required.

Where possible we check it automatically, for example with the PSA lookup. Listings with an invalid certificate, or one that does not match the card or grade, are blocked. See Grading for more.

Can I sell sealed products?

Yes, as long as they are factory sealed. Resealed or opened products cannot be listed as sealed.

How should I price my cards?

When you list, we show a price suggestion based on market data. You are free to set your own price, up to €1,000,000 per item.

Remember that buyers see prices including shipping to their country.

How do I get the verified badge?

Stores get a check badge after we have verified their identity and business details. Commercial sellers have to provide those details anyway; once they are confirmed, the badge appears on your profile and offers.

Is there an API for stores?

Yes. Stores can create API keys and set up webhooks in their Account to sync stock, prices and orders with their own systems.

Shipping

Where we ship, how fast parcels go out and how to pack cards safely.

Where can I buy and sell?

Everywhere in the EU. Set your ship-to country in the header and you will see prices with shipping to your country.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is charged per parcel, and it is already included in the prices you see. Each seller sends one parcel, so adding more cards from the same seller only adds a little shipping.

How quickly do sellers ship?

Sellers ship within 2 working days after you pay. You get a notification as soon as your parcel is on its way.

Is every parcel tracked?

Yes, every parcel is shipped with tracking. Updates come in automatically from the carrier, for example DHL, Österreichische Post, La Poste, PostNL, Poste Italiane, Correos or PostNord, and appear on your order page.

Are parcels insured?

Parcels with a goods value of €25 or more are shipped insured. Below that they are tracked, and buyer protection still covers you if a parcel does not arrive.

How should I pack cards?
  • Single cards: in a sleeve and a toploader, so they cannot bend.
  • Sealed products: wrapped so the corners and seal stay intact.
  • Graded slabs: in bubble wrap.

Use a sturdy envelope or box. Good packaging also earns you better ratings.

My parcel has not arrived. What now?

First check the tracking on your order page. If tracking still shows no delivery 10 days after dispatch (domestic) or 20 days (cross-border), you can report it as not arrived. See Disputes.

Payments & payouts

Where your money goes, when sellers get paid and why you should never pay outside Binder.

Where does my money go when I pay?

You pay Binder through a licensed payment provider. We hold the money until you confirm the parcel arrived. Only then is it paid out to the seller.

What does Binder cost?

Nothing during launch. There are no fees for buyers or sellers.

How do I confirm that my parcel arrived?

Tap “Confirm receipt” on your order. Please only confirm once you have checked the contents.

What if I forget to confirm?

The order confirms itself 3 days after tracking shows it was delivered. After that the seller gets paid. If something is wrong, report it before then. If tracking never shows a delivery, the order confirms itself 21 days after shipping, unless you reported a problem.

When do I get paid as a seller?

Your payout starts once the buyer confirms receipt, or once the order confirms itself 3 days after delivery. The money goes to your bank account.

Released money is paid out to your bank once a week (Mondays) by default; you can switch to daily payouts. You can see your payout details and status in Account > Payouts.

Why is my payout paused?

While a problem report is open on an order, the payout for that order stays paused. It continues as soon as the report is settled.

A seller asked me to pay by bank transfer or PayPal. Is that okay?

No. Never pay outside Binder. If you do, you lose your buyer protection and we cannot help you get your money back.

We show a warning when a message contains bank details, PayPal, phone numbers or email addresses. If someone pushes you to pay elsewhere, please contact support.

Buyer protection

What is covered, how we handle fakes and how to spot one.

What does buyer protection cover?

You get a full refund, including shipping, if your order does not arrive or is significantly not as described: wrong condition, wrong language, a different card or a fake.

It applies to every order paid on Binder, from private sellers and verified stores alike.

Why does holding the money protect me?

The seller is only paid after you confirm the parcel arrived as expected. If there is a problem, you report it from the order page and the payout stays paused until the case is settled.

What if I receive a fake card?

We have zero tolerance for counterfeits. Report the order as “Not as described” and say it’s a fake. You get a full refund, and the seller is suspended.

Please report it within 3 days after delivery and before you confirm receipt.

How do I report a suspicious offer, shop or message?

Tap the small flag next to the offer, on the shop page or under the message, pick a reason and send. A person on our team looks at every report, and the seller doesn’t find out who reported.

You get a confirmation by email and can follow it under Account, Reports. How we decide and how sellers can appeal is explained under Reporting and moderation.

How can I spot a fake?
  • Light test: hold a flashlight behind the card. Real cards let little light through.
  • Font: compare the text with a known real copy. Fakes often have wrong fonts, spacing or spelling.
  • Card stock: fakes often feel thinner, glossier or bend more easily.
  • Holo pattern: check the foil against a real card. Wrong patterns or flat shine are a warning sign.
Can I return a card from a private seller just because I changed my mind?

Private sellers do not have to offer a 14-day right of return. Buyer protection still applies, though: if the item did not arrive or is not as described, you are covered.

Am I protected if I paid the seller directly?

No. Buyer protection only covers payments made on Binder. Never pay by bank transfer, PayPal or any other way outside the platform.

Graded cards

Raw vs graded, slabs, certificate numbers and what our certificate check does.

What is the difference between raw and graded cards?

A raw card is a normal card, sold as it is. Its condition is judged by the seller on the Cardmarket scale.

A graded card has been checked by a grading company, given a grade from 1 to 10 and sealed in a plastic case.

What is a slab?

A slab is the sealed plastic case a grading company puts the card in. It has a label on top with the card, the grade and a certificate number.

Which grading companies are supported?

PSA, CGC and BGS, with grades from 1 to 10.

What is the certificate number and where do I find it?

Every slab has its own certificate number. It is printed on the label at the top of the slab, usually next to or below the grade, often together with a barcode.

Sellers must enter it when listing a graded card.

What does the certificate check confirm?

Where possible, for example with the PSA lookup, we check automatically that the slab exists in the grader's database and that the card and grade match the listing. Listings with an invalid or mismatched certificate are blocked.

Is a passed certificate check a guarantee?

Not completely. The check confirms the certificate is real, but a fake slab can copy a real number. Compare the listing photo with the grader's record, and check the slab when it arrives.

If it turns out to be fake, report it as “Not as described” and say it’s a fake.

Problems & disputes

What to do when an order does not arrive or is not what you expected.

How do I report a problem with an order?

Open the order and tap “Report a problem”. Choose what happened:

  • Not arrived
  • Something missing
  • Arrived damaged
  • Not as described (condition, language or fake)

Add photos if you can. They help a lot.

Is there a deadline for reporting?
  • Not as described: within 3 days after delivery, and before you confirm receipt.
  • Not arrived: once tracking shows no delivery 10 days after dispatch (domestic) or 20 days (cross-border).
What happens after I report a problem?

The seller has 48 hours to answer with a proposal: a full refund, a partial refund, or a return for a refund. If you accept, the case is closed.

What if the seller and I don't agree?

Ask Binder to decide. We look at the tracking, the photos and your messages, and decide within 5 working days.

Who pays for return shipping?

If the item is not as described, the seller pays for return shipping.

Does the seller get paid while a case is open?

No. The payout stays paused until the case is settled.

Should I talk to the seller first?

It often helps. Each order has its own chat with the seller, on the order page and in Messages. You can attach photos. Keep everything in the chat, since we use it if we have to decide a case.

Account & settings

Signing up, notifications, ratings, seller status, taxes and legal information.

How do I create an account?

Click Sign in at the top right, then Create account. Enter your name, your email address and a password; we send you a link to confirm your email. Open it and you are signed in. Your cart, want list, orders and listings are then saved to your account and follow you to every device.

Anything you did in this browser before signing up (a cart, a want list, offers you prepared) moves into your account the first time you sign in.

How do I change the language or my country?

Use the header. You can switch between English and German and choose your ship-to country there. Prices update to include shipping to that country.

Which notifications will I get?

The bell in the header and Notifications show updates on paid, shipped and delivered orders, payouts, new messages, review requests and problem reports.

You can switch email on or off for each of them on the same page.

Where do I find my messages?

Each order has a chat with the seller. Open it from the order page or from Messages. You can attach photos.

How do ratings work?

After you confirm receipt, you can rate the order from 1 to 5 stars for item as described, packaging and shipping speed, and add a comment if you like. Ratings show on the seller's profile.

Should I sell as a private or commercial seller?

If you sell as a business, you have to register as a commercial seller and give your business details.

Private sellers do not have to offer a 14-day right of return. Buyer protection applies to both.

Do I have to give tax details?

Platforms must report sellers with more than 30 sales or more than €2,000 in sales a year to the tax office (EU rule DAC7). If you reach that, we will ask you for your tax details.

How do I delete my account?

Write to support and we’ll delete your account.

Still stuck?

If it’s about an order, write in the order’s conversation; for a problem with a parcel, report it in the order: that pauses the payout right away and brings us in.
