We mainly store what is technically necessary, such as your language and your cart. We only show a cookie banner for optional product analytics with PostHog.
1. What this is about
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) works similarly. Without your consent, we only use both to the extent strictly necessary for the platform to work (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Our own audience measurement, Vercel Web Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and Sentry work without cookies and store nothing on your device. We do not use advertising cookies. The only exception is optional product analytics with PostHog, which only runs with your consent.
2. What we store
- Cookie “locale”: stores your language setting; retention 1 year
- Session cookie (once accounts go live): keeps you logged in and protects your account; retention until you log out or Session duration
- localStorage “cart”: remembers the items in your cart; until you empty it or clear your browser data
- localStorage “orders” (demo): stores demo orders while the platform is in test mode; until you clear your browser data
- localStorage “listings”: stores your listing drafts and listings in test mode; until you clear your browser data
- localStorage “messages”: stores message threads in test mode; until you clear your browser data
- localStorage “notifications”: remembers which notifications you have read; until you clear your browser data
- localStorage “notification settings”: stores which events you want to receive emails about; until you clear your browser data
- localStorage “cases”: stores your problem reports in test mode; until you clear your browser data
- Cookie “kh-consent”: stores your choice in the cookie banner; strictly necessary; retention 6 months
- PostHog cookies and localStorage entries (starting with “ph_”), only after your consent: enable product analytics; retention PostHog cookie retention, default 1 year – confirm or until you withdraw consent
3. Consent
We do not need your consent for the technically necessary entries.
For optional product analytics with PostHog, we ask you via a cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). The banner only appears while PostHog is switched on. If you decline, PostHog is not loaded and no “ph_” entries are stored.
You can withdraw or give your consent again at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
4. How to delete stored data
You can delete or block cookies and locally stored data at any time in your browser settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”. However, you will then lose your language setting and cart, for example, and will have to log in again.
