Accessibility statement

Last updated 19 October 2026
Draft

This text is a draft. It was prepared without legal advice and must be reviewed before the platform launches. Text in double square brackets such as Company name and legal form is a placeholder that the operator still has to fill in.

If the operator is a micro-enterprise (fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet of at most EUR 2 million), the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) does not apply to this service. We follow it voluntarily anyway. Confirm which applies

Binder should work well for everyone, including with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or reduced motion. Here is how far we are, what doesn't work yet and how to report a barrier.

1. What Binder is

Binder is an online marketplace for trading cards and sealed products, starting with the Pokémon TCG and the One Piece TCG. You search for cards, compare offers from different sellers, put them in your cart and pay with us. Sellers ship straight to you, and you follow the tracking in your orders. As a seller you list cards one by one, as a list, or by moving over from Cardmarket.

The operator is Company name and legal form, Street and number, Postcode and city. This statement covers the website Domain in all its languages (English and German).

2. How accessible the website is

We follow the accessibility requirements of the BFSG and its regulation (BFSGV). Technically we work to the European standard EN 301 549 and so to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Based on our own review, the website is largely accessible. On date of the last review, e.g. 19 Oct 2026 we checked the main journeys: home, search and filters, card and product pages, cart and payment, signing up and signing in, selling with photos, account, want list, help and legal pages. We used automated tests (axe-core) and manual checks with the keyboard, at 320 pixels wide and with screen reader output. Add an external audit if one was done

3. Using Binder accessibly

  • Keyboard: everything works with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Space. A “Skip to content” link jumps past the header. A clear ring shows where you are.
  • Screen readers: pages have headings, landmarks and labelled form fields. Card images give the card name, set and number. The price history is also read out as a sentence, and adding something to your cart is announced.
  • Motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, we switch off tilt, holo shine and slide-ins. The “Last sales” row on the home page holds still while your mouse or keyboard is inside it.
  • Reading and zoom: text meets the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast levels. Pages work at 200 % zoom and from 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
  • Time: there are no time limits for buying or selling. The short confirmation after “Add to cart” closes after a few seconds but stays open while your mouse or keyboard focus is on it. The cart is always in the header too.

4. What isn't accessible yet

  • Photos that sellers upload only have a generic description (“Photo 1”). The seller describes what they show in the listing text.
  • In the price history, the single weekly values can only be read with a mouse or a tap. The starting value, current value and change are shown as text next to it and are read out.
  • Card names and card texts come from the official catalogues and are sometimes only available in English or Japanese.
  • Files for moving from Cardmarket come from other providers' tools; we can't influence how accessible those are.

We are working on fixing these points. Add timeline

5. Report a barrier

If you notice a barrier or need content in another format, write to accessibility email address, e.g. accessibility@domain or use the help centre. We reply within time frame, e.g. 14 days and tell you how we'll solve it.

6. Market surveillance

If you think Binder doesn't meet the requirements and we couldn't help you, you can contact the responsible market surveillance authority:

Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen (MLBF AöR), Carl-Miller-Straße 6, 39112 Magdeburg, Germany, email kontakt@mlbf-barrierefrei.de, www.mlbf-barrierefrei.de
